Katie Davis is the founder of Amazima Ministries International. This organization seeks to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people of Uganda who need it most. Katie first visited Uganda in December of 2006, and was immediately captivated by the people and culture. In the summer of 2007, Katie returned to Uganda to teach at an orphanage and it was then that she began to develop the dream of starting a child sponsorship program to provide school, supplies, 3 hot meals a day, spiritual discipleship, and medical care of young children. In January of 2008, Katie adopted three orphaned girls and today she is now the mother of 13 daughters. Katie is currently working toward opening the Amazima School in Uganda which is anticipated to open in 2012.
